Meet Dr. Chaffin
Chris Chaffin, DDS
Dr. Chaffin's goal is to help people achieve the smile of their dreams and bring world-class dentistry to the Inland Northwest Region. He enjoys building trusting and professional relationships with all those he associates with.
Education
He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry. His next step was attending Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and receiving the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1985. During his senior year at Creighton he was one of the first students chosen to attend an oral surgery externship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and worked at Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta during that time.
Professional experience
After graduating from dental school, he joined the military and attended a general practice residency program for the United States Army Dental Corps in Oklahoma. His education included training in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Combat Casualty Care, and Expert Field Medical training. From there, he moved with his family to Heidelberg, Germany, San Antonio, Texas, Ft. Gordon, Georgia, and Washington. During the time he served in the military, he also trained in numerous programs, including an oral surgery externship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He moved to Spokane, Washington in February of 1992 and has have been in private practice here ever since.
Continuing education
Dr. Chaffin has received extensive post graduate training in dental implants and is a graduate of the Misch International Implant Institute and has attended the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum, an advanced training program for dentists in cosmetic dentistry at the University of the Pacific.

Outside the office
When not in the office he enjoys snowboarding and skiing, playing guitar, keyboards, music, and feeding his fascination with science, the world, and the universe. He also enjoys running and physical training and being with his family.
